A senate-amended bill to fund the state children's health insurance program went back in front of the House. It passed easily. Louisiana Congressmen were consistent in their positions from when the original House version passed.

Thus far, SCHIP has been the only policy on which Joe Cao has bucked his GOP overlords.

He's "bucking the trend"

It's not too surprising that Cao voted for SCHIP. It serves his constituencies and is "about children," something moderate Republicans see as valuable. His Ledbetter vote is more disappointing but also not surprising. We'll see where he goes and what happens, overall in the House in midterm elections.
