Petition Update

The petition to delay the closure of public comments on the school facilities master plan has met 25% of its target. Wednesday's City Council meeting may be the last opportunity for stakeholders to voice their concerns before the plan is put to a vote, possibly later this month. Because it is clear that some Orleans Parish School Board members are not engaged enough in the basic duties of their office to so much as READ the master plan, it is imperative to support the petition effort. Delaying the close of the public comment period to the New Year has the effect of ensuring that lame duck school board members will be out of office when the plan comes to a vote.

If you have not already done so, please sign the petition.
