The Most Glaring Difference Is What?

Let's play a little game. There are two sets of photographs below. All of the buildings pictured are in the city of New Orleans and they all resemble one another architecturally.


Look at these photographs:





Now look at these photographs:





What are the differences between the buildings above and the buildings below?

Well one set of buildings is an original while the other is a replica.

One set was built with cheerful red brick while the other is made from depressing gray.

One building set is of historic and cultural value to the New Orleans community while the other is not.

The structures in one photo set have been demolished while the buildings in the other still stand.

To me, there is one difference between the two sets of buildings depicted that is more troubling than all the rest. What do you think it is?

That they knocked a football stadium to put up the buildings in the second set of photos? Since you already that the buildings in the first set are gone, I give up.
