Question

Today the Louisiana Public Service Commission voted to ban the practice of accepting meals from corporations regulated by the PSC.

Have they banned meals just for commissioners themselves? Or for commissioners and all staff?

It has been well known that the PSC's credibility has been compromised by this practice, so this is potentially an important move.

Meant to flag this article yesterday. It seems that some people are concerned about municipal oversight of Entergy, which is structured as follows:

1. City Council pays lawyers to regulate Entergy.

2. Entergy reimburses Council for the lawyers hired to regulate Entergy.

3. Ratepayers (you and me) pay Entergy to reimburse Council for lawyers hired to regulate Entergy.

Pretty awkward if you ask me.
