Barack Obama For President

I'm proud of this.

Here are a few more reactions I've read.

Mostly I'm just proud. I'm excited about maybe having the political capital and the legislative chops to get some of this good stuff done. Imagine if we accomplished, in a first term, the following things:

1. End to the war in Iraq

2. Total reorientation of critical executive branch departments that have been gutted under the Bush administration: justice, defense, the EPA, treasury, and HUD, just to start.

3. Affordable health care

4. Massive national initiative to eliminate dependence on foreign oil in 10 years with special emphasis on renewable resources

Wouldn't that be pretty good? Wouldn't that be worth it?

We need these things and we've needed some of these things for decades and decades.

Finally the people are prepared to compel government to get it done.

It feels good to feel proud every once in awhile.

It's been awhile for a lot of people.

Now is a good time to feel proud.

Barack Obama for President.

I thought one of the best singular one liners was:

"It's not that John McCain doesn't care, it's that John McCain doesn't get it."
