Rumor is that this Wednesday's column by James Gill will be his last at the Times-Picayune.
It is hard to believe the T-P couldn't figure out something to at least keep one of their top political columnists through the elections next Spring.
Their capacity to cover important issues in this city is shrinking far too quickly.
Me no like.

It's okay as long as Nell Nolan remains untouchable.
So when you make a product that is on the decline the solution is to make it crappier so even less people will want to buy it?
James Gill was going to retire at the end of the year. This was set in motion a year ago but the buyout offer came a month earlier so he took the buyout.
E, you are a Ship arriving too late to save a drowning witch.
I knew it when they fired (unceremoniously laid-off) Jon Donley and began the shift of nola.com to Facebook Glory Hole that we were in for some Titanic Newspeak.
But speaking of such social network stalling, what do you think of this?

Hm, sad. Gill was a reason for BUYING a TP off the street.
I will miss his work.
Any word on who will be replacing him? IF they will be replacing him?
I'd imagine the editors of the paper don't like losing this much staff.
